About

Welcome to The Alchemist’s Kitchen and Home, I am so happy you are here!

This website is created to closely resemble a Blog to document the recipes and home projects completed in our home in Maine. I came from a small farm in Mississippi where my family cooked many of our meals from locally sourced farms. I remember these meals always being special regardless of their presentation or cuisine because they were natural and made with purpose and care!

I am now married to my wonderful husband, Nick, and have a house in a small town in Maine. I have found myself wanting to add pops of color and different textures to our home. The modern style with the millennial neutrals have grown old quickly. I admit that it looks great to have neutral colored walls and floors, but after a year it becomes old to have no color and texture.

The Alchemist’s Kitchen and Home comes from my desire to make our house a home and share that experience with others. If you have ever thought, “Why is it so hard to make something new?” or “I wish I could make my house look more inviting.,” then you have come to the right place.

An Alchemist is a person who practices alchemy which is transforming raw materials into precious metals or other valuable items. The reason I chose Alchemist for this blog and website was because I wanted to share the joy, pride, and accomplishment that comes with making improvements to your home, and creating good nourishing food in the kitchen. It’s okay if you haven’t had much experience in the kitchen. You can learn with me!

My hope for you is this: You fall in love with being in your kitchen making delicious, nourishing food for yourself and your family; you feel confident making recipes your own; you make decisions to improve your home while being true to yourself.
